The Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound program is composed of lectures, imaging laboratories, and a clinical component. The final portion of the program curriculum includes an externship, in which the student administers logs and evaluations in a supervised clinical environment. When Did The Domestic Arts Become Career Options?

Published by CarCoZo under Trades & Vocational

There once was a time when the woman’s place was in the home. She was expected to do the cooking for the family, take care of sewing and mending the clothes and make sure that the house was neatly arranged and clean for the men and children who lived there. This is no longer the sole domain of the woman in a home. And it’s no longer something that women have to do for free when they do decide that they want to do it. That’s because these domestic arts that were once a given domain of the woman are now things that can be pursued through school and done as a career.

Just take a look at schools like the Harrington College of Design which offers an interior design degree program among other types of programs that lead to professional careers. Interior design is a job that women were doing long ago in their own homes. They would pride themselves on finding the perfect shade for a slipcover and making the home look just right for entertaining guests. This is something that can be done as a career today and a woman can earn a whole heck of a lot of money if she does it well. The culinary arts and DIY fashion design are other examples of careers that take the skills of women of yore and apply them to the modern lives of career women today.

Getting a Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Published by Career under Health & Medical

When I was a little girl, one of my favorite things to do was to play with my dolls and pretend that they were sick. My mom even bought me a black nurse bag and the little white cap to wear while I was ‘attending to the sick’. I told her that one day I would be the best nurse that there ever was and she agreed.

Now that I’m older I am pursuing my dream of becoming a nurse at an excellent college in my hometown. Their program for nursing is one of the best healthcare programs in MO. After I am finished with the 15 month program here at the Sanford Brown College, St Peters and am awarded my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I am planning on going online to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses to obtain licensure in nursing. With this additional licensing I will be able to choose from a more enhanced group of employment opportunities.

I can still remember one time that I was at Dr. Moore’s office for a check up and the nurse that came in to give me my shots asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I pulled out my play nurse hat and put it on my head and answered; “I’m going to be the best nurse in Missouri”. I am now working towards that goal.

Learn to Work in Online Marketing

Published by CCR under Media Arts & Design

Online marketing is a pretty important industry.  I do a lot of marketing copywriting for the Internet, and I can tell you that there are a lot of opportunities in the field — both freelance and more permanent employment.

There are plenty of writers in the trade, but one thing I’ve noticed we need is more professionals who are trained in visual communications — online marketers who know about the principles of visual design and layout, and who can design graphics.  Of course, just as most writers are not very good graphic designers, most graphic designers are also not very good writers, so there is plenty of demand for experts in both in online marketing.

You might be thinking that you have too much going on in your life — work, family, etc. — to change careers and go back to school.  Money is also an issue for most people — college is expensive! Lucky for you, though, it’s actually easier than you would think to go back to school.  Many programs are now available online, including this reputable visual communications degree program.  And most schools have a special department dedicated to helping you find financial aid so that you can afford your college education.

Any excuse you have for not pursuing an education and a rewarding career is just that — an excuse.  There are plenty of different ways to make college happen for you, so all you need is the ambition, determination, and the will to learn!
