Healthcare is the Career Choice of the Future!

Published by Career under Associates Degrees

It’s hard to believe that the Baby Boomers are turning sixty this year.  With the aging of the population it only makes sense that hospital jobs will increase in the short term.  One of the ways to capitalize on this is to start a career in healthcare. Since I did not have any experience in healthcare, I decided to look on the Internet.  One of the degrees I found was an online associate psychology degree.  This degree teaches everything from front office management to back office patient care.  Out of associates degrees online, this looked very promising!

Since I’m interested in patient care, getting a degree in something interesting such as psychology makes a lot of sense.  It can really set me up for the future, especially since the aging of the population is a fact.  I will learn how to take care of people by assisting the doctor and registered nurses, and then if I want I can use my knowledge to go straight into the workforce, or even use it as a springboard to a four year degree.  With this kind of knowledge in my head now, I feel better prepared to make a good decision about my future and where I want to go.

Online Associate Degree Issues

Published by CarCoZo under Associates Degrees

There are many different benefits available to the student who opts to get an online associate degree. However, there are also some problems that are common to people who get these types of degrees.

Here are some of the major problems to look out for when considering getting an associates degree online:

  • Difficulty of staying focused. It’s a lot easier to get up and go to class at an assigned time each day than to be responsible for completing assignments in a timely manner under your own direction.
  • Hands-on requirements of some degrees. For example, the online health care associate degree is going to have to be supplemented with a hands-on class or internship since your job will require regularly dealing with patients in person.
  • Limitations of degree. It’s difficult to do too much with some associates degrees. For example, an education degree would require that you go further and get a bachelor degree in education online if you really want to get a good job in the field.

Some of the problems that you face with the online associates degree are the same as would be experienced for an online bachelors degree program. Others are unique to the short-term degree. There’s nothing wrong with these programs but the drawbacks should be weighed against the benefits when choosing the best online colleges.

Accreditation and What it Means for You

Published by Career under Associates Degrees

When considering a degree from an online college, you will want to know if a particular school you are considering is accredited. You can see more information about the accredited online college degree on their website. If you are interested in learning more about the accreditation process in general, you can visit the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools.

An accredited school is one that meets certain standards and regulations which are needed within the industry. When you attend an online college or university that is accredited, you know that you are attending one that is qualified, certified and meet the standards that you would expect from a good school. This also means that your online bachelors degree will be accepted by other colleges and most places of business that you could choose to work for.

The more you learn about accreditation, the more you will come to understand why it is important for you when choosing an online college for your associate degrees online. You don’t want to waste your time and money paying for a school that is not accredited and then have difficulty later getting your degree accepted. You also want to be sure you are getting the best possible education, even online and this is what accreditation helps you achieve.
