Online Masters Degrees for Medical Students

Published by CarCoZo under Health & Medical

Students who are interested in studying medicine often attend college campuses under the mistaken assumption that it is impossible to get a high-quality education online for this field. While there are certainly some medical degrees that require students to attend a campus-based program, there are also a lot of Online Medical School options available within the field for today’s students to consider.

A great example of such a program is the Human Movement Graduate Program which doesn’t require you to attend a campus-based school and yet does offer a highly advanced and specialized degree that can lead to a lucrative future career. This is a niche degree that is great for people who are interested in medical areas such as physical therapy. You can have a terrific medical career with this type of degree.

There are a number of reasons that students today might prefer to get an online education if that option is available to them. It’s an option that is increasingly available to students interested in medicine. If you’re been thinking that you need to either attend a local campus or change your career interests then you should be pleased to know that that’s not the case at all!

Is Online Education the Best Choice for Me?

Published by Susan under Health & Medical

j0439254As the full time worker and a mother of 2 kids, going back to school seems like an unrealistic dream. After all, there’s how could I possibly find the time to drive downtown to the university? Impossible.

But lately, I’ve been reading more and more about online education. Some online colleges offer everything from a degree in health care management to a psychopharmacology degree. It’s crazy how technology has completely changed every facet of our lives. Now, you can get a bachelor’s degree from your house!

My only question is this. Do online degrees carry the same weight as traditional ones? I know that in the past people kind of frowned down upon this kind of education, but now, even the big universities are offering online degree programs. I think it’s become a credible, widely accepted way to get your degree.

I need to read more about it because this is something that could really change my life. Going to school would be manageable; I’d still be able to spend time with my family; and I could earn my degree at my own pace. The bottom line is that I need a degree if I want to advance my career, and this is the only way I can do it.

Getting a Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Published by Career under Health & Medical

When I was a little girl, one of my favorite things to do was to play with my dolls and pretend that they were sick. My mom even bought me a black nurse bag and the little white cap to wear while I was ‘attending to the sick’. I told her that one day I would be the best nurse that there ever was and she agreed.

Now that I’m older I am pursuing my dream of becoming a nurse at an excellent college in my hometown. Their program for nursing is one of the best healthcare programs in MO. After I am finished with the 15 month program here at the Sanford Brown College, St Peters and am awarded my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I am planning on going online to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses to obtain licensure in nursing. With this additional licensing I will be able to choose from a more enhanced group of employment opportunities.

I can still remember one time that I was at Dr. Moore’s office for a check up and the nurse that came in to give me my shots asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I pulled out my play nurse hat and put it on my head and answered; “I’m going to be the best nurse in Missouri”. I am now working towards that goal.

Learning a Job, Not a Theory

Published by Career under Health & Medical

When one finishes from a 4 year college, you have learned a lot about many different things. You will have learned about psychology and science. You will have learned about math and English, and perhaps another language as well. You will have also learned about history, geography, and communication and whatever else you may have majored in.

What you will have learned nothing about, however, is a specialty. While 4 year colleges may provide you with a great deal of knowledge, they rarely provide you with a great deal of knowledge about a specific job or occupation once you graduate. Instead, you are forced to find a job, learn the job as if you had never been to school, and hopefully like it.

That’s why most people do not stick with the first jobs they get after college. Knowing about the field does not mean you enjoy the job you get or know anything about it. Instead, if you hope to stick with your first job, your best bet is to go to a New York medical career program rather than a 4 year college, because you are trained in a job, not in a bunch of theories, so you know exactly what to do when you have graduated.

The Right Timing

Published by Career under Health & Medical

When I finished high school, going to college was the furthest thing from my mind. At the time, I felt that I had spent enough years in school and I wanted to find a job and make some money. I wanted to experience life and travel to other countries and I knew that this would not be a possibility if I was paying my way through college.

I got a job at a fast food restaurant, traveled in Europe and Australia and lived my life as I had wanted to. I did eventually decide that it was time for me to go back to school, as I knew that I did not want to work at McDonalds for the rest of my life.

I applied to go to the Houston Sanford Brown Institute and get a certificate as a pharmacy technician. Had I gone to college, I would have become a pharmacist, so I thought that this course would be a great stepping stone for me, if I was ever to decide to go through with the college courses.

I finished at Sanford Brown and got a really good job. I am in the midst of planning a second trip to Europe and then I just might go back to school and get my degree.
